Snipping Tool at Your Finger Tips

This is Vanessa Collins, your Certified Digital Marketing Specialist with your Weekly Tech Tip. Have you ever run across a Facebook ad that had an image that you really liked, and it gave you an idea for something that you may want to do in your business? Or maybe you read an email from a business and you really liked the way it was written, and it gave you an idea of how to present an offer you are promoting. If so, you should have what is called a “Swipe File.” A swipe file is a collection of tested and proven marketing items such as images, email copy or website copy that you can use in INSPIRE your creativity. It is not for you to plagiarize. But they can inspire you to create something great.

One of the tools that I use often when curating by image swipe file is the Snipping Tool. This little utility is already on your Windows PC but you may have never seen it. With the snipping tool, you can grab a screen shot of whatever you want on your screen. If you want to capture just an image you saw in a Facebook ad and send that to your graphics person to give them an idea of what you are looking for, you can do just that without doing a complete screen shot. If you click the Windows button and start typing snipping tool, it will come up. I have also included a link to the Microsoft support page which explains more about how to use this little hidden gem of a tool.
