Tech Tools For Writers

This is Vanessa Collins, your Certified Digital Marketing Specialist with your Weekly Tech Tip. In February, it was Freelance Writers Appreciation Week. Yes, it is a thing!  I want to share with you one of my favorite writing tools, Scrivener.

Scrivener is a word processor and project management tool that allows you to outline and structure your ideas, take notes and view research alongside your writing. It is great for writing novels, articles, short stories, and screenplays.

Scrivener unites everything you need to write, research and arrange long documents in a single, powerful app. It acts as an electronic ring-binder that allows you to gather your material and jump between different parts of your manuscript, notes and references with ease. You can break your text into manageable sections of any size and leave Scrivener to stitch them together. Their integrated outlining tools let you plan everything first or restructure later. I absolutely love the corkboard feature which looks like index cards on a board. As you are planning your project, you can move the cards around and as your project grows, you’ll find that Scrivener grows with it.

Scrivener is a product of literatureandlatte.com. The cost is only a one-time fee of $45 but they offer a free trial. But let me warn you, if you are techy like me, Scrivener can be too much fun. Don’t get on there and start playing with the corkboard like someone I know.
